Safety Tips and Burning Instructions

Many people don't realize that there really is a proper way to burn a candle. Here are some tips: Never burn a candle near anything flammable! Things like curtains, children and animal tails can be deadly. So make sure you burn the candle in a well ventilated area away from anything that might catch on fire or get knocked over. Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch. Always start a burn with a well trimmed wick, and trim it during the burn if needed. A wick that is too long will create a flame that is too high and affect how the candle burns. Try to shoot for a burn time of 3-4 hours. You will get the maximum performance out of the candle at that time. Hug your candle!! (Yup, that's what I said!) As the sides become soft, and at the end of a burn, give it a gentle hug to push the warm wax in toward the wick. this helps with blow-outs and spillage. Put your candle on a flameproof holder, and make sure it's away from drafts. And lastly, NEVER, EVER leave a burning candle unattended!!
